I use Audacity for recording guitar,
also for slowing down guitar music so I can work out how to play it.
It can import and export MP3s. It is great.
Guitar tablature software
Power Tab Editor - Download "Power Tab Editor" (free) which will enable you to view and listen to PowerTab files, also you can use it to write your own tablature.

TablEdit - Download "TefView" (free) or "TablEdit" (free demo). Either program will allow you to view and listen to TablEdit files.
MusEdit - Download "MusEdit Viewer" (free) or "MusEdit" (free demo). Either program will allow you to view and listen to MusEdit files.
